Yesterday I needed to run some errands in the city but I didn't mind when I saw that the sun finally had arrived in Paris! After days with grey skies and a lot of rain it's nice to see that the sky still is blue behind all those clouds. What I didn't realise, until I sat my foot outside the door, was that is was completely freezing (!) outside. Well, you can't get everything you ask for.
Know which monument I had to pass on my way?
The Panthéon of course! The size of this building manages to blow me away every single time. It's absolutely beautiful. Although I was a little ticked off when I saw that they still had a few Christmas trees outside. Is that even allowed in the middle of January? Hmm...
It was the first time I had to photographs wearing mittens. And that was... Well, not optimal. But there was no other way due to the crazy cold. Even with mittens my fingers went numb a couple of times. I'm from Sweden, I'm supposed to be used to the cold, right? Yes, but this cold is something different. The cold goes all the way into your bones no matter how much clothes you put on.
From the Panthéon I took Rue Soufflot down towards Jardin du Luxembourg. I love that park no matter the season!
But before I made it to Jardin du Luxembourg I had to make a stop to warm myself up a little bit. Believe me, it was necessary!
Even the little birdies in Jardin du Luxembourg seemed to be freezing,
All the chairs, which normally are so hard to get a hold of during the warm summer days, were almost all empty. To think that the trees behind them will be covered in green leaves in a couple of months is pretty impossible right now. But oh how I long for those days!
After that I made my way to Dans les Landes in the 5th arrondissement to meet up the very sweet Stephanie from Artfully Adored. We had a lovely chat over wine and a few delicious tapas dishes. It's so nice to meet so many lovely people in this city. Thank you for making me feel so welcome!
