Yesterday I probably had one of the most serious "pinch me moments" in my life so far. Getting to see a haute couture collection walk down the runway in real life was not something I expected to happen anytime soon. Getting to see a Christian Dior haute couture collection was even further away in my imagination. But sometimes life smiles at you and during a very grey Parisian afternoon this little dream of mine suddenly became reality. The fact that the show took place at Musée Rodin, which just happens to be my absolute favourite museum in all of Paris (which is something most of you who have been following along here probably know all too well by now) was just the icing on the cake.
Inside the venue built for the occasion (which resembled a futuristic igloo in my mind, but I'm not too sure that was the actual concept) I fortunately met the gorgeous Evangelie and together we watched light as air fabrics and beautifully embellished dresses walked down the runway one at a time. I tried to juggle an iPhone camera and my DSLR at the same time as I tried to actually sit back and try taking it all in. The big talk after the show ended? Those sparkly sneakers that walked the runway paired with delicate dresses. And my personal favourites from the show? The lovely jewellery pieces that made my heart skip a beat. I want those rings and necklaces right now please. All in all, it was an extraordinary afternoon in what felt like a pink fluffy little bubble of happiness.
