These pink fluffy flowers right next to the Notre Dame are one of the best spring signs I can think of. Since I've lived quite close to this little spot ever since I came to Paris for the very first time I've seen all this pink bloom three springs in a row now. 2012, when I stayed in this city for four months only (and had no idea I would one day return). Last year, 2013, when I decided to move back and now this year. It's become somewhat of a little tradition now I guess, and a tradition I don't mind keeping.
Within a week all of the trees in the park behind the cathedral had turned green, it was almost as they had changed overnight. And soon these pretty pink flowers will be gone. It's no wonder that spring is my favourite season in this city. Everything – both people and plants – suddenly come alive to enjoy a little bit of sunshine. I love it! ...And without (hopefully) jinxing it: this is probably the sunniest spring I've experienced in this city so far. Keep it going Paris!
