Just as quickly as Paris Fashion Weeks seems to come around, it ends. I don't mean to be one of those annoying people talking and complaining about how busy they are during this time but it really is unavoidable not to mention the word "busy" during a time like this. Although I would never complain since I basically get to live out my dream during a couple of days each year and loose a few extra pounds at the same time (since it's practically impossible to eat while running around, jumping in and out of cabs and show venues). It's really the most exciting time for my photography assignments and also because I get to see so many familiar faces who all come to Paris for work. To sum things up: my feet are covered in blisters but I have the biggest smile on my face once the last day of Paris Fashion Week comes around.
If you have a minute I'd love to share a few exciting projects I've been working on during this time (that you might have seen already if you're around on Instagram). One of them was being able to photograph the very exciting LVMH prize showroom here in Paris for their social media channels with "international experts" like Nicolas Ghesquière, Patrick Demarchelier and Karl Lagerfeld dropping by to select the finalists who move on in the competition. I'm not sure if you're familiar with LVMH prize (if not, you should totally read about it here before going to bed tonight) but it could (very amateurishly) be describes as a much fancier and professional version of Project Runway.
A highlight during the week was without a doubt photographing the Dior show for the brand itself. Roaming around and photographing the empty (and pink!) set, shooting VIP guests like Kanye West, Dakota Johnson and Lorde and capturing the actual runway show feels like a dream at this point. I wish all jobs and assignments could be this much fun (even though my nerves make it impossible to get any sort of sleep the night before).
Other exciting events during that week was also to meet Georgia May Jagger at the beautiful Mulberry party at Galeries Lafayette, watching Karlie Kloss strut down the Elie Saab runway, getting green with envy of the beautiful venue and new collection at the Roger Vivier presentation, photographing another special thing for Carolina Herrera and shooting a very exciting project together with the lovely Tina Leung and Elie Saab. Hopefully I can share more photos from this super fun photo shoot soon (after I've finished three days of editing work that is...).
Last but not least I have to share a couple of snapshots from the Louis Vuitton show, held outside the new Louis Vuitton Fondation space (a must visit for those who haven't been yet). Before you know if I guess it will be time for yet another fashion week. I can only hope that it'll be just as busy and fantastic as this one!
