Peonia Nobile by Acqua di Parma
I always love to take on a challenge when it comes to my work and when I received the assignment to create images for Acqua di Parma's new fragrance "Peonia Nobile" I was excited to say yes even though I knew we might face a few tricky obstacles on the way. Why? Peonies. In. November.
So what do you do when it's November in Paris and every florist laughs looks at you surprised when you ask them if they by any chance have the possibility to order pink peonies for next week? You make them yourself. Thankfully I've hired an assistant already and together we managed to create these pretty blooms out of paper. Looks kind of real, no? Even if it wasn't an easy job I think it was worth it.
... Peonia Nobile and its pink shade reminds me of spring and the fact that even though it's kind of sad and cold right now, I know that spring isn't too far away. I don't think I'm alone when I say that the peony is one of my all time favourite flowers, which has to make this the perfect perfume for any peony lovers out there, no? They've also incorporated notes of geranium and raspberry, which I don't think can end up being anything but lovely.
I can't wait to see the trees blooming again, see the parks all green and pick up my very first peonies from the Parisian markets. I'm certainly not a person made for the winter season and because of this I love love love little signs of the fact that warmer days are not too far away and that more colourful seasons are just around the corner. If I close my eyes and spray this scent all around me I can pretend that we're already there.
